AS Preti has mentioned. A resistor is a two terminal
device. It come in many different forms in electronins it
can be coulor coded or be white ceramic housing with the
wattage and resistance rating written on the wheras in the
domestic use of it it can be called heating elements in
element heaters, water heaters, even the light bulb.
Resistance on the otherhand is the ability the component
has to restrict current flow for e.g a hot water heater of
3kW that operate at 230V will pass current of 13.04Amps
because it has a resistance of R=17.638ohms.The SI-unit for
noting resistance is ohms.

Resister is a passive element which 'opposes the
flow of electrons through it' and this proparty is
called a resistance

Answer / preti
resistor is a two terminal electronic component that
produces a voltage across its terminals that is
proportional to the electronic current through it.
where as resistance is the property of a resistor.
resistance relay on ohm's law

Can i connect all earth pits in ring system..., And wat IS 3043 says...please help me
I've descovered that when the earth wire in a domestic electrical installation is not connected back to the board (ground) a voltage of between 9-24v is is found to be present in the earth wire. When connected at the board there is no voltage - is this normal and why does it happen?
