the air compressor taking one phase high current.what is
possible causes.the said compressor is very new.(55kw).

Answer / sushil
there may be a manufacturing defect such as 1)damaged or
bad insulation of that perticular phase 2)It may also the
alignment problem of the shaft of compressor

It may be due to winding problem. There may be different
winding resistance/induactance from the othe two one, of
that perticuler phase

r y b voltage may be constant but frequency missing

Answer / daxity
Obviously there is problem because the currents are not
balanced.the cause might be an imbalance in the winding
resistance which might come from unequal number of turns or
deffective insulation on that particular phase,or loose
connections on that phase from point of supply to the last
termination.........if the windings are perfectly
balanced:-misalignement and bearing failure can affect all
the phases.
