i dont think. In all places ,motors are used to start by
starters only.

who told you dat starters r not used in an industry. we
always go for a DOL (direct on line starter)which includes
type1 r type 2 protection co ordination n people ve above
replied i thnk about star delta starter which nt at all
depends upon the rating of the motor, as we knw the motor
drawas around 6 to 8 times the full load current during
starting if dat effects ur other equipment connected to
same line then go for star delta starter, if ur
distributiom Transformer is capable enough to withstand dat
surge inherited go for DOL starter.

No for low rating of motors starters may not required.But
for higher rating starter is Mandatory. To reduce high
starting current starter are used while starting in step by
step it is used.

In industries they normally use it.Ofcourse it may not be
required for motor of lower ratting say below 1kW or around
it.

oh/...well frnd...u must have seen at any small industries.
they must have used be cos of cost.U can never find in any
standard company.it may happen if its very low rating motor
like up to 0.33kw.

With out starter in the industries motor are not starting.
If the starte is having a safty for the motor.

If the single phases some times will start directly.
