Answer / nm1
Arcing occurs due to increase in potential between the two contacts. Potential increases because of sudden opening of breaker leads to sudden reduction in current to zero. This means rate of change of flux is highest in inductive circuit and producing high potential between the contacts. Potential also increases due to release of conductance of cables.

I give a simple example, suppose mujhe ek big water tank mein pani bharna hai.big water tank ko bharne ke liye mote pipe ki jaroorat hogi.pani uper tank tak le jane ke liye ek electric motor ya engine ki jaroorat hogi.jab motor on hoga tab tank bharna suru ho jayega.chalte huye motor me agar hamne tank ko bharne ke pipe ko suddenly nikaal diya jaaye our dusre paani ke tank se jod dia jaaye ,toh pahle tank me paani ko bharne walla pipe me (between tank to motor)Jo pani hoga back pressure me vaapas aayega our ground per spread ho jayega.in this example water tank as a load, every load including coils also have its own resistance.tank size is as a resistance and storage water is as current, pipe is as conductor, flowing water in pipe is as current pipe disconnection point is as switch and the motor fan who lift the water work as a emf and the motor is as supply generator.I think u all better understood.mai reason is current.

guess:In this case, the resistance becomes zero Ω as well,
increasing total current to a value of infinity(i=v/r).no
real voltage source could arbitrarily supply a huge
overload current and maintain steady voltage at the same
time.this huge current results in the generation of heat
and sparks
