It is used to block unwanted DC supply.In case of Dg set
used for charging batteries, it blocks the reverse supply
to DC gen if the set fails.It protects dc appliances from
connecting wrong polarities to the supply.In battery
chargers it enables measurement of charging voltage and
battery voltage seperately.etc
