DESCRIBEPNEUMATIC SYSTM OF ASH HANDLING PLANT..

Answer / Rajeev Kumar Gaur

The pneumatic system in an ash handling plant is a crucial component for transporting and managing fly ash, bottom ash, and other residues. Here's an overview of the construction and operation of a typical pneumatic ash handling system:

1. Construction: The system consists of various components such as vacuum pipelines, air supply sources, air filters, cyclones, silos, and discharge points. The pipelines are typically made of steel or aluminum, while the air supply source can be compressors or centrifugal fans.

2. Operation: Ash is collected by vacuum pipes, which draw air and ash from hoppers or bottom ash storage areas through the piping network to the central processing unit (CPU). The system uses compressed air to transport the ash, reducing wear and tear on mechanical components. Inside the CPU, cyclones separate the ash from the air before it's discharged to a silo or storage area.

3. Advantages: Pneumatic systems offer several advantages in ash handling plants, such as lower maintenance costs due to minimal mechanical contact with the ash, increased mobility and flexibility for moving ash around the plant, and improved safety by reducing manual handling of hot and hazardous materials.
