Power Factor (PF) differences between a capacitive panel and the TNEB side can occur due to the reactive nature of power in electrical systems. The TNEB (Tamil Nadu Electricity Board) supply is predominantly resistive, while a capacitive panel has both capacitive and inductive components. Capacitors create lagging reactive power (PF<1), whereas induction motors create leading reactive power (PF>1). To balance the system, TNEB may have to compensate for this difference by adjusting their generation or capacitor banks. Additionally, line losses and load factors can also influence the observed Power Factor difference.
