AIR CONDITIONERS HAVE RATING IN BTU AND TON OR SOMETIMES IN KW ALSO... WHAT IS THEIR RELATION? A..

Answer / prakash suhane

Relation mentioned in answer 1,2 and 3 are correct.
Some compressor mention two powers one is Electrical power
in wattage and other is Mechanicle power in T.R or B.T.U

To determine the Energy Consumed use falowing formula.

For 1 phase K.W = Voltage * Ampere * power factor
use clampmeter to take running current of compressor.

T.R calculation is depend on various factors (hence there
is no thumb rule)
1) Room size
2) Worst ambient condition around room
3) No. of Doors and Windows.
4) Occupancy, No. of Light etc

once you calculate T.R then u can find K.W by using
fallowing relation 1 T.R = 3.53 K. W
and hence once u get K.W then calculate the full load
current by using above mentioned formula.
