WHY DOES NEUTRAL DO NOT CARRY EVEN THOUGH IT CARRIES RETURN
CURRENT?

Answer / pratheesh
In three phase system, if the loads on all three phases are
equal, there will not be any current flow through neutral.
Remember the star point of motor. I1+I2+I3=0. If there is
no potantial in neutral with respect to ground, there will
not be any current flow.
But if the loads on any phase/s are not equal to others,
I1+I2+I3 is not equal to 0. So in this case there will be
some potential on neutral wire at the load side and this
will creat a current flow to the star point of trasformer.

NEUTRAL CARRY RETURN BUT NOT POTENTIAL,ALL WHAT WE GET
SHOCKED IS BECAUSE OF POTENTIAL.AND IN ANY CIRCUIT YOU WILL
SEE THAT ALL POTENTIAL HAS BEEN ALREADY DROPPED IN THE
COMPONENTS.SO AT NEUTRAL WE HAVE ZERO POTENTIAL

here neutrling is nothing but ground so for ground
potential is zero so current is zero

At 765Kv, I have seen the use of PT at line side for metering and CVT for protection, although as far as my knowledge is concern, PT at this voltage level will have huge loss and more cost as compared to CVT as CVT can also perform same function of Protection and Metering? So my question is why use PT and not CVT for metering and protection in order to reduce the cost.
