In a thermal power plant : Why the Deaerator is placed at height and mostly at 15.5mtr?..

Answer / khaled lamary

By putting the dearator at heigt we guarantee vapor doesn't
form at the suction area of feed water pumps so cavetation
phenomenun in the impellers can be prevented.

In a thermal power plant : Why the Deaerator is placed at height and mostly at 15.5mtr?..

Answer / nisarg

Deaerator at height not only provides Available suction head at boiler feed pump at higher side than required NPSH but also makes re-circulation valve discharge to remain in liquid state and not the gaseous state. because feed water temperature to the BFP (and also the temperature after the throttling in ARC valve) is lower than the saturation temperature of the return line of re-circulation to deaerator.

In a thermal power plant : Why the Deaerator is placed at height and mostly at 15.5mtr?..

Answer / hasan ahtesham

It is use to increase pressure of water from dearator, n if
we will not use it then due to temperature above 100 degree,
if pressure falls then there will be phase change.

Booster Pumps are used in applications where the normal
system pressure is low and needs to be increased...
