if the secondary of the ct is open ,this condition will
stress ct and dangerously high voltage will be induced in
the secondary ,there may be a chance for sever hazards

Answer / raxit
because of primary, there is flux linkage in secondary.so
current will flow through secondary.but if there is no close
path, current will not flow.but due to electromagnetic
induction high voltage will be built up across the secondary
terminal and the current transformer will BLAST

Never open secondary of C.T. There will be very high voltage
in the secondary winding. C.T will be blast.

If the secondary opened , due to inductive property a very
high transient voltage induced at the secondary side as a
result insulation of secondary side brust and it became
damaged

Answer / hareesh
it is normally a step up transformer, high voltage will
induse in secondery since there is no opposing flux for
primery.it is normally used for measuring purpose no current
will flows through it.flux will saturate.

there is voltage n so current in primary side.
now due to emi voltage induced in the secondary side.
if the 2dry is open the current becomes zero, which makes
the infinite impedance n results in very high voltages
sometines in kilovolts which may produce arcing.

Answer / deltawye
if the secondary line of a transformer is open the current
is zero, but the voltage is still present and it depend on
the transformer rating on the secondary side..
