My Experience: WIPRO interview in June, 2008, Chennai

My Experience: WIPRO interview in June, 2008, Chennai..

Answer / booki

hi friends,
straight to the topic, they had a
1. written test
2. Technical interview
3. HR interview
as their procedure...

1. WRITTEN TEST:
it comprised of VERBAL, APTITUDE, TECHNICAL (20 + 20 + 10 = 50 questions
to be finished in 60mins)

VERBAL: comprised of analogies, sentence completion, synonyms, antpnyms,
etc... to be frank, the standard of verbal was quite high.

People preparing for GRE will find it easy. Else, you need to sit down
with Barrons for atleast a month to have a cakewalk in this section.

TIP: I knew about 8 questions only, and got 3 more from wild guess... all
others, i chose the same choice. For questions you dont know, try putting
option C for all. You will get about one third as correct.

APTITUDE: the questions were not that complex. could be solved, but time
is an important factor here as the questions would really be BIGGGG but
answers will be simple ones but reading the question takes time.

TECHNICAL: i am an Electrical & Electronics student and so i could answer
only the C, C++, basic computer questions and opted for guessing the
remaining questions (which were lik Greek and Latin for me) gues they were
about some networking, database mgmt and all...

2. TECHNICAL INTERVIEW:
for other dept like me: its quite easy unless you put microprocessor or
any such subject in your area of interest.

For me, they started with stress interview asking me to stand outside for
sometime and the interviewer chatting with someone.

Then the q's asked to me:
1. Tell about yourslf regarding your studies... (dont give in detials lik
abt your leadership, team working qualities and all)
2. About my computer exposure as i m not a Computer stud.
3. A simple question from Electrical machines (i had put it as my area of
interest as they wont ask much in depth topics about it)
4. Then followed a C++ question from virtual functions.
5. Then another simple question from my dept subject. thats it, m
thro... :)

Basically for computer and IT dept studs, you know you will be tortured
with your own subjects. For ECE stud, be ready for a long detailed
interview if you are having microprocessor or any subjects like that as
your area of interest as they know a lot about it and they actually asked
about 20 questions from 8085 and its peripherals for 1 ece stud.

HR interview:

We heard from many that they wont filter out many studs in HR interview.
But unfortunately, they removed about 40 studs in this round out of about
150 studs.

But the interview for me was quite fun and simple only.

1. How was the day.
2. Why was it great? which part you felt realy great? (i answerd "GREAT"
for the 1st question)

3. Which part you felt as tough, the interview or the test...? i said that
the verbal part was tough cos we never had any preparation of this
standards...

4. Tell about yourself
5. Then about my paper presentation awards...
6. What do you like about wipro that we described to you in the morning
presentation?

thats all... simple.... :)

and m thro :D

people, its not too tough and all but clearing the 1st round is not too
easy. about 360 people got eliminated in it out of 580!!! its 65% hard
work and 35% luck to clear the test.

From technical interview, its fully upto YOU... how you answer, how you
behave and all... in technical interview, you can think a little and
answer, nothing wrong. But in HR, always remember that you have to be
yourself and not to show off. Jus speak casually as if talking to a
friend.
Afterall they are also humans...
