TNC switch is nothing but two position switch. when it is
in close position it will put the circuit breaker in

What is the function of trip neutral close switch?..

Answer / minimanu

IT is a three position Switch. The swith atre of two types -
Having lockable Trip position and other with spring return
to normal Neutral position.
For manual operation this switch is used to TRIP a breaker
by moving it towards trip position and close by moving it
towards Close position.

In neutral position all the operations on AUTO mode or from
remote can be done, as per the scheme.

For keeping the breaker in OFF condition or for isolation,
the switch can be kept in lockable TRIP position, if that
facility is available in the switch.

TNC switch is a three position switch, used for closing or
tripping a circuit breaker manually from panel (locally).
this switch is spring loaded, this ensures that switch
returns to neutral position after any operation (either
close or trip). This is required to isloate the closing /
trip coils, which are short time rated, from the control
supply.TNC switch makes close open commands momentary.

What is the function of trip neutral close switch?..

Answer / akhilesh solanki

TNC Switch is normally used for the breakers. This is not simple Control switch with spring loaded. The special features of the TNC Switches are as below.
1. Close can be done only after tripping the breaker. This is required to ensure that successive operation of closing coil can not be done.Required for safety of closing coil.
2. It can give status of last operation i.e. Close or trip.
3. As per standard practice Trip will always be on the left side and Close will be on the right side.
4. This can be locked in certain position mostly in Trip Condition so that it can not be operated
5. Some of the above listed features are requirement specific but a normal TNC switch breaker shall have all of the above except Point no. 4.
6. Normal Two / three position switch with spring loaded back to normal shall not be used as TNC Switch

What is the function of trip neutral close switch?..

Answer / amit tiwari

It is as simple as TNC (Trip Neutral Close) in normal condition the switch will be in NEUTRAL position. To close the Circuit breaker we have to rotate it in direction 'C' as mentioned in TNC switch and breaker will be in operation and if we want to trip the circuit breaker we have to rotate the switch in the direction of 'T' as mentioned in TNC switch and breaker will get tripped for maintenance. Remember TNC will operate from field. Remote closing and tripping can be done as TNC switch will be in 'N' position.
