first check whether it has ink or not
then folllow the below steps:
1.check the nibe for smoothness.
2.hold the pen and check for grip.
3.use the pen for 5 min,then you will know whether it is writing smoothly or not,in case of new pens.
4.drop the pen from table and check whether it is working fine or not.
5.check the pen with different quality of papers.
6.immerse in water and check whether it is working fine or not.
