In electronics, a transistor can be operated in different modes (such as linear or saturation) depending on the DC current flowing through it. The term 'biasing' refers to setting up this DC current. In a bipolar junction transistor (BJT), for example, the base-emitter junction is forward biased with a constant current (called the biasing current), which determines the mode of operation and the characteristics of the output.nMore specifically, in common-emitter configuration, the collector current (Ic) is controlled by the base current (Ib). If Ib > Ic, the transistor operates in saturation mode; if Ib = Ic, it operates in active mode; and if Ib < Ic, it operates in cutoff mode.
