In Ab Initio, Look-Up refers to a process of searching for values in a reference table (Look-Up File) to retrieve corresponding values. A Look-Up File is a static data file containing the key-value pairs for the look-up operation.nExample: Using a Look-Up File to convert codes to descriptions.
