How to maintain Query subject’s relationships between Database layer and Model Layer? For eg - if 2 DB layer's query subjects are copied in Model Layer - Query subjects respectively, then Where should we define relationship of both Query subjects? Either in DB layer or Model layer?

I have Date,product,Quantity_Sold columns and I want Product, MTD(month Till date),YTD(Year Till Date) as output. Can anyone help me with the logic in getting MTD i.e quantity sold from 1st of this month to till date (i.e. 01- 11-2013 to 26-11-2013) and YTD i.e QTD sold from 1st date of the year to till date(i.e. 01-01-2013 to 26-11-2013). I have 7500 rows. I need all rows in single reports. Which type of prompt we have used retrieving all rows and show in a report? We have dynamical queries q1, q2, q3, q4, q5. If customer selects the particular, query that only show in execution report. In case it may more then one, how do you execute the particular query item in report page?
