What is a p-n junction diode? State and explain some of its applications.
Answer / Daizy Sagar
A p-n junction diode is a two-terminal semiconductor device that allows current to flow in one direction but blocks it in the opposite direction. It consists of a p-type semiconductor (with holes as majority charge carriers) connected to an n-type semiconductor (with electrons as majority charge carriers). Applications include rectification, voltage regulation, and switching.
