i am BSEE student, my project study is to synchronize the generator of an hospital, it have a one 313KVA standby-power diesel gen.,and three 100kva transformer.The generator system is operated manually and no ATS or UPS. one more new building is being build so the transformer will be upgrade to a higher vale. 1)how i can connect the new gen. to the old gen. and to the synchronize panel? 2)what is the new gen. to be buy?(rating, etc.) These is my title: To synchronize the generator system of the ____ Hospital. During the main stator winding insulation testing (phase to ground)of 11kv alternator (Lerysomer) i found 0 and resistance with multimeter and found 20 killo ohm while the power cables are connected both end (Generator & VCB). In VCB PT (Potential transformer) are connected. Please any body explain that method of insulation is correct or not? also describe of PT connections

In 110V DC supply,if a closed circuit gets open, How can we identify the voltage which is measured after the resistor(4KOhm) which is open with negative.it shows 55V +ve when measured, also the actual positive source is 55V +ve .Because there is no voltage drop in open circuit. How can we identify whether this is the voltage which is series with the resistor or the DC source direct +ve.
