Explain in an orderly manner how the force in the member of a truss be detected using the method of ..

Answer / Arti Gautam

The force in each member of a truss can be determined by applying the principle of static equilibrium and distributing forces at joints. The following steps outline the method of joints:
1. Draw the truss diagram with loads, supports, and unknown internal forces.
2. Choose an arbitrary joint as the starting point and resolve forces acting on it into two orthogonal directions (e.g., x and y).
3. Apply equilibrium equations (sum of forces and moments) in each direction to find the unknown forces in terms of known quantities (loads, supports, and forces at other joints).
4. Solve for internal forces in members connected to the chosen joint using trigonometry or linear algebra.
5. Repeat this process for other joints until all internal forces are determined.
