Describe the various methods of thyristor turn on?
Answer / Virendra Prakash
Thyristors can be turned on through various methods: Forward Voltage Turn-On, Gate Turn-On (GTO), Light-Activated Switching (LAS), and Reverse Recovery Turn-On. Forward Voltage Turn-On is the most common method where a thyristor starts conducting when its anode voltage exceeds cathode voltage. GTO uses a gate current to initiate conduction, LAS relies on light to trigger switching, and reverse recovery turn-on occurs during the reverse recovery of diodes in a bridge rectifier.
