work together in a hirarichacal relationship as the basic
building blocks for hosting online content.

and virtual directory map to physical directory of web
server.

Virtual directory is the physical location of the application on the machine.
By default it’s - inetpub/wwwroot

on modify statement, executeNonQuery returns zero rows affected even though there has been modification carried out sucessfully in the table.. can anyone tell me is this possible??? if yes, how..???
