We are designer please help me calculate the size of 11kv cables from step up transformer to M.V panel, total load is 5 mega watt distance 900 feet (used aluminum type cables)
please provided formula for calculate the cable with example.

1. Determine the total current (I): I = P / U = 5000000 W / 11000 V = 454.55 A
2. Find the allowable thermal rise per unit length (αl) for aluminum conductors at the specified ambient temperature: For example, at 35°C and 900 feet, αl = 0.01687 °C/m
3. Determine the allowable current density (J): J = I / (π * d²) where d is the conductor diameter
4. Find the required cross-sectional area (A): A = I / (J * π)
5. Look up the corresponding AWG number for a cable with the calculated cross-sectional area from a table or chart
