Firstly depending upon the value of capacitor .The power factor value will become unity first and than moving the leading power factor region from lagging power factor region.
leading power factor is generally not advisable to operate

The change depends upon the load and the values of the capacitor to be added. It will surely increase the PF but up to which extent depends upon the load and capacitor value.
