Which one is better among Value and select & search prompts,in terms of performance?..

When Comparing Value Prompt and select & search prompt... Select & search prompt is Better in performanance... Because when we run the Value Prompt it connect to database and display the values, So it took some time at starting to display.. But when we run the Select & search prompt... intially it does'nt connect to Database... So the performanance is high in Select & search prompt
