If single phase supply is 220v. then why three phase supply is 660?

In india there is only 2 type of a.c supply I.e 240 v,440v only.

no because one earthing is also present ..so 220v or 440v is perfect answer...same case two earthing also used in 3 phase supply but mainly one taking all times...
