Powder technology is a method of manufacturing in which metal power is used to get the final shape of the object. The general procedure is as follows-
1. Manufacturing of powder (Atomization, Reduction, Grinding, Electrolytic deposition, milling of brittle materials, commutition etc)
2. Blending with lubricants (Graphite) and binders (methylcellulose, thermoplastics etc)
3. Compaction (compressed b/w dies)
4. Sintering (heated at almost 0.75*Tmelt)
5. Secondary machining and finishing if necessary
6. Secondary heat treatment if necessary
7. Oil impregnation, PVD, CVD etc as per requirement
