It works as ballast (gives high voltage) at start and controls current by dropping voltage during running.

It is a step down type of X-Mer which is 250/100v
So 40 Wt=40/250=0.16Amp

I have a 1000 kVA Transformer(11kV/0.415kV) and a APFC panel of 400 kVAR(LT).Now if i want to remove the LT APFC panel and install a HT(11kV) APFC panel on the HT side is the HT APFC panel will work same as the LT APFC panel(improve the power factor),if yes what will be rating of the HT APFC panel?what is the formula to calculate HT APFC panel rating???

When measuring the Insulation resistance of a motor winding (winding to earth) using a megger meter, Applied voltage(1000V) was automatically reduced to 500V. and the measured insulation resistance values are also very low (in Kohm range) Can anyone give me a reason???
