atm pressure is 1.013 kg/cm2 at sea lvel. at higher
altitudes atm pressure reduces,so a man at high altitude
will not be called in vacuum....

vacuum is a negative pressure created by surrounding system
for their requirement, which is much or more less than the
atmospheric pressure. it is always measured with respect to
the surrounding atmospheric pressure either it is at hill
station or under the sea level.

vacuum is always measured on sea/mercury level if atm
pressure is below some mmhg then its called vacuum

Vacuum is space that is empty of matter. When the pressure exerting is much lesser than the atmospheric pressure then it is called vacuum. If it is slightly less than atmospheric pressure it is not called vacuum.fo ex at hill stationsthey are not living in vacuum.

Question 33 – By using Excel program either on laptop or desktop PC, solve the differential equation dy / dx = -2y + x + 4 with h = 0.005, initial values : x = 0, y = 1. The 4th order Runge-Kutta method provides : y(N + 1) = y(N) + (1/6) (k1 + 2k2 +2k3 + k4), k1 = h [ -2y(N) + x(N) + 4 ], k2 = h { -2 [ y(N) + k1 / 2 ] + x(N) + h / 2 + 4 }, k3 = h { -2 [ y(N) + k2 / 2 ] + x(N) + h / 2 + 4 }, k4 = h { -2 [ y(N) + k3 ] + x(N) + h + 4 }. What is the value of y at x = 0.5?

MASS TRANSFER - EXAMPLE 4.1 : A concentric, counter-current heat exchanger is used to cool lubricating oil. Water is used as the coolant. The mass flow rate of oil into the heat exchanger is 0.1 kg / s = FO. For oil, the inlet temperature TIO = 100 degree Celsius and the outlet temperature TOO = 55 degree Celsius. For water, the inlet temperature TIW = 35 degree Celsius and the outlet temperature TOW = 42 degree Celsius. What is the mass flow rate of water in kg / s, FW needed to maintain these operating conditions? Constant for heat capacity of oil is CO = 2131 J /(kg K) and for water is CW = 4178 J /(kg K). Use the equation (FO)(CO)(TIO ?TOO) = (FW)(CW)(TOW ?TIW).
