what is difference between en8 and en24.if the usseage of
motor shaft en8 what problems faceing?and what are the
advantage of en24?

Hardness of En8 material is much lessesr when compared to En24.
More the hardness ,more is the brittleness.
U cant have any tapped ends.
Its better to go for En8.

Hardness of en24 more than en8 and advantage of en24 is
bearing the jurk load and protect from bending of shaft and
minimise the root costing.

there are many type of material. such as mild steel
(m.s.),en8.en19,en24,en36.en353.
some simple question:-
difference b/w ms & en8
ms is that material which material is not for heat
treatment.its Hardness in nill (approx 20HRC)
& tensile strength 300 mpa approximate.
But
En8 is that material whose hardness increase dueto carbon
%tage.its will go 35-40 HRC hardness.
& tensile strength 600-700 MPa approximate.
2. Difference b/w EN8 & EN24
hardness of these material is approximate same.
But tensile strength of En24 is much more(1000MPa)as compare
to en 8.
so you can say that en8 always better chiose for design a
motor shaft.

Hardness of en8 is about to mild steel but in case of en24
the hardness of material-35rc. this is the main difference.
