How to know motor winding is star or delta connected without see the information table and winding connection ?

Star connected or star running designed motor winding
resistance is some what high compared to delta running
designed motor.
Exambple 5.5KW star designed motor is having a resistance
of 1.2 ohams,same in delta is 0.45 ohams like that
Not exactly the same but there is a difference in
resistance.

If it is LT motor and 3 wires are coming out, it is delta
connected . If there are 6 wires it is neither delta nor
star ,which is decided by starter which connects windings in
star at starting and then in delta afterwards.

for LT motor if we want more power output it should be delta.for HT motor mostly it should be star connected.some special purpose motor will be delta not all in HT.

In case of star connection, you can have 4nos. Of wire. 3 wires for 3 phases and other for neutral wire (very important for protection) in case of del. Connection you can have 3nos. Of wire. (This connection is very important for arresting harmonic f)

Motor star/delta connection = feed by two cable of suitable
core & size.
Motor delta connection = feed by one cable of suitable core
& size.
or
Its application area and load parameters like water
lifting,air-fan in large buildings.
