As per ASME hydrostatic test pressure is 1.5 times of that
of Design Pressure and pneumatic test pressure is same as
design pressure.However pneumatic is highly risky, So
always preference should be given to hydro-static test
pressure.
While conducting hydrostatic testing care should be given
to vent the air trapped during water filling at the top
most point.

For Hydrotesting, test pressure is equivalent to 1.5 times
the vessel design operating pressure while pneumatic is
only 1.2.
