I agree with Yomama answer, but add one thing more, Cage also controls cavitation and flashing, it routes flow at different angles to avoid flashing and cavitation.

cage is generally use for flow there are three types of cage linear equal percentage and quick opening which type we need flow according to the cage fluid will be flow that's it
