Answer / waqas
LCN: Local Control Network is the Network Were number of UCN
(Universal Control Network)are Connected
UCN: Universal Control Network Were the Single DCS,PLC,FSC
etc..are Connected
These number of UCN's with DCS,PLC,FSC etc.are then
Connected to LCN and through LCN to all Server.

LCN:It is called as Local control network.it is based on
Token passing Technology. Its speed is 5MBPS.LCN is used for
connect the system Network like PC,server with the help of
MAU assembly or etc.
UCN:-It is called as Universal control network.it is based
on Token passing Technology. Its speed is 5MBPS.UCN is used
for connect the Process Network like DCS,PlC Controller etc
with the help of UCN TAP assembly with the help of RG-6
coaxial cable(Drop Cable) or RG-11 coaxial cable(Trunk
Cable).RG-56 cable is used to connect NIM TO ucn CONTROL

We have a Yokogawa Micro-XL DCS, which is having around 300 I/O, but whenever there is any wire gets grounded in field, the 24v supply to all loops gets dipped & all the indications at DCS goes to IOP(shows input open), at present we have fixed 500mA fuses in all the lines but which does not working. Does it required to replace with lower amps fuse, then how much or is there any other solution for this.

Q1: Consider part of a control loop, which excludes the transmitter, consisting of a process, a controller and a control valve which may be represented by two dead times of 0.5 min each and three exponential lags of 0.8 min., 1.0 min. and 1.5 min. respectively. We wish to express this system as an overall first order plus dead time (FOPLD) model ie gain, time constant and process dead time. (We will see later that this is often done, to simplify controller tuning). For this exercise, gain is considered to be 1.0. (A) If the transmitter is a flow transmitter whose behaviour can be described by a dead time of 0.2 min. and an exponential lag of 0.5 min. in terms of the overall dead time and overall first order lag how can the system behaviour be approximated ? Overall dead time = Overall time constant = (B) If the transmitter is a temperature transmitter with a temperature sensor in a protecting well whose behaviour can be described by a dead time of 0.7 min. and an exponential lag of 15 min. how can the overall system behaviour be approximated now? Overall dead time = Overall time constant =
