what is the difference between LOSS ON DRYING IN ORDINARY OVEN TECHNIQUE AND VACUUM OVEN TECHNIQUE..

Answer / vijayamani

Normal LOD : this method prefered. the melting point of the sample is greter than the boiling points of the solvets used and water for the product synthesis.
Vaccume LOD : this method prefered. the melting point of the sample is less than the boiling points of the solvets used and water for the product synthesis.
Because of solvets will evaporate less temperature in vacuum than Normal
