high vtgs are produced by high vtg surges,a sudden
increase of voltage damages the equipment throughout t/m
line so surge absorbers have to be used to protect the
equipment as it is very costly.

electronically.it is used to test the equipment's critical
voltage.ex.Insulation measuring, t/f oil testing.
