when will formula,place holder and summary columns fire in

When ever these coumns are referred.
Formula columnm is in genreal refered in the layout of
report.
Summary columns are used to see the count of rows, to
display end of the report or No Data Found answers.
As the name says, placeholder column just holds the value..
It will be initialized when ever its refered.
