1. switch on the elcb. press the test button on the elcb.
it should trip.
2. switch on the elcb. connect test lamp between earth and
output phase of the elcb. the elcb should trip.
if fails in both the condition the elcb is faulty.

why we generally use 3.5 core cable or in other word 1/2 core for neutral and also confirm me that in balance conditiob(3 phase)current in neutral will zero

after parallaing two generators current is shooting up in both the generators.for ex: load is 400 kw..after paralling and load sharing current in running gen is approx 900 amps and incoming is 750 amps which is too high when trying toshift the load current in incoming gen is coming more than 1300 amps and both getting tripped and making blackout..
