why clock frequency of microcontroller 8051 is chosen as 11.0592 MHZ?..

Answer / ali gachkar

By using an eight bit divider we get
11.0592Mhz / 128 = 86400
and Day is (24 * 60 * 60 second ) equal to 86400
By using an eight bit divider and divider to 10 like 4017 we get 86400 from 1.8432Mhz
by using these to Xtal (11.0592,1.8432) we get the standard baud rates

why clock frequency of microcontroller 8051 is chosen as 11.0592 MHZ?..

Answer / manoj kumar pradhan

Since a machine cycle consists of 12 oscillator periods, the
count rate is 1/12 of the oscillator frequency.so 12 MHZ is
used for it.
