What will cause if you run your engine in critical RPM continuously?..

Answer / mazher

This situation is higly avoided because if anyone runs
engine on critical speed machine will start vibrating
hevily & it could creat great damage to engine. This
vibration is bacially due to Natural frequency & shaft
material frequency is matching & which creats high
vibration in machines. Nobody should operate machine in
this situation. In high speed machines like compressors &
turbines, We should pass the critical speeds as sharply as
we can to avoid the damage to machine.

Answer / manikandan

Strictly no machines are allowed to run continuously in its
critical speed. If it happens according to your question
the vibration of the machine will be more and as a result
there is chance of seveior damages to the machine, and if
any loose fitted particles may also come out of its
position which results in a serious damage to the machine.
and apart from these the bearings will get damaged.
