in HPLC the dectector which we use is an optional we can
use uv- variable, UV- fixed or PDA , Fluorimeter,
refractive but in LC-ms mass spectrometer is used as a
detector where structural elucidation is possible

With HPLC, components of a solution are separated, and elute
from the column at varying times. One can use the retention
time to estimate what the components are, but can not say
definitively.
With an LC-MS, in addition to components being separated,
the components are then fragmented and the identity of each
component be determined based on the distribution of the
fragments' mass to charge ratios.
In short, LC-MS is qualitative and the HPLC is not.

hplc means high performence liquid chromatography used to
vu detecters and pda detecters hplc isthe sample is not
destroy and hplc sample seperated
lc-ms/ms is the sample destroy is conected to themass
solution seprated to the masses
lc-ms/ms means liquid chromatography and mass spectro meter

In HPLC we have a long run time and more solvent consumption
and second thing we can do just purity check qualitative and
quantitative..
But in LCMS we can check purity and Molecular weight
also.like MS/MS structural conformation. 2nd Short run time
and less solvent consumption.

thats instrumental diff"""" above i think so,,,,,
as all knows that LC-MS is a coupling of both mass and hplc
so here simultaneous determination of the components
concentrations and their weights is sone easily by using to
accurate instruments"" which is more useful .... in
impurity studies and newly synthesised drugs"""""

HPLC- MEANS HIGH PERFORMENS LIUID CHROMATOGRAPHY IS ADD TO
VU DETECTERS IS THEIR CHROMATOGRAPHY IS HIGH LEVEL HPLC IN
SOLUTION SEPERATED
LC-MS -MEANS LIQUID CHROMATOGRAPHY AND MASS SPECTO METER
CONEECTED TO THE MASS IS THEIR CHROMATOGRAPHY IS NORMAL
LEVEL, LC/MS IN COMPONENTS SEPERATED

HPLC - Based on wavelength, compound will be identified and quantified. Here all the compounds including excipient and solvents will be detected based on wavelength.
LC-MS/MS- Based on molecular weight , compuond will be identified and quantified. Other interfernce not detected. (If not same M.Wt)

as known that HPLC means High Performance liquid
chormatography in this sample is not destroy. But in Lc-MS
Liquid chormatography-Mass spectroscophy in this sample is
destroy as from LC it passes to the MS so the sample gets
fragmented.
