why the most API molecule are in the hydrochloride form?
Answer / mr.shoukatalli naikwade
API molecule without hydrocloride salts are in the form of
base and it is higly non polar.its solubility in water as
well as in our blood and gastric juices in stomach is very
poor.
Our pH of stomach is arround 2 and gastric acid consisting
mainly of hydrochloric acid 0.5%.
To increase API's solubility of drugs, salt formation plays
important role in dissolution and dis integration of tablet.
for salt formation hydrochloric acid is mostly choosed.
