11kv has three live wires how much voltage is in its single
wire(leaving the other two wires)
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
In 3 phase 3 wire systems, The line voltage(three wire) is
1.732 (Route 3) times of the Phase voltage (Single wire).
hence line voltage (three wire) = 11 KV.
so phase voltage(single wire) = 11/1.732 KV.
= 6.35 KV.

And in what way you are planning to measure the voltage of a
single wire. maybe what you mean is the voltage between one
line and ground or neutral. that way the voltage would be
11kv divided by square root of 3. But if you really asking
bout measuring the voltage on 1 wire, it is absolutely zero.

Answer / siddappa & jitendra
actually in ac 3phase system single phase voltage is equal
to line voltage/1.732
=11000/1.732
=6.35kv

Answer / prashanth
voltage is measured between two points.. dat is between to
lines.. in a 3phase the diff between any phase is
11kv..hence it is not confined to a single point.. the
voltage is 11kv betwn ant two lines of 3ph

Its depend on connection mean star or delta connection if star connection to 11kv/1.732 and delta connection same voltage of 3wire 11kv.

Answer / arun kumar
if you know about type of connection then you know that we
use delta delta connection in 11 kv line in which line
voltage keeps same to phase voltage so if youn measure
voltage in single wire then the voltage whoud be same 11kv
