why the supply power frequency is 50hz in india? where as it
is 60hz in US?

50hz was set by britishers when they are in india after that
india run their machine on 50hz so it is basicallya set
frquency but we can also be work on 60hz.

Basically we have stuck ourselves to the british parameters.
the britishers used to operate on 50 Hz. most of the
european countries which were under the british raj have
adopted their system of 50 Hz. But with proper research, we
can also operate on 60 Hz.

A 3 phase motor, 440 voltage, induction motor. If we take out rotor from motor and if we give supply 440 volt to stator then what happens?????
