As name suggests Deski(Desktop Intelligence) needs to be
installed on each client machine and WEBI can be accessed
over Web. DESKI is used by advanced users ( eg. for vb
scripting). In Deski you need to first import the report
from the repository., makes changes if required and export
it back. In WEBI you directly edit or refresh the documents.

There are some features that DESKI supports and WEBI
doesn't and Vice versa.
Here are lists of feature that only DESKI support(Report
bursting via publishing,user defined hierarchies, user
defined Groups and Objects,Formatting Templates,
conditional block display, Additional data providers types,
Query on Query). There are workaround of some of these
features in WEBI
WEBI exclusive features ( OLAP database access via a
universe,Interactive viewing,Synchronized multiblock
drilling, metadata display via Context panel, server based
ranking)

1.Need to install the bo software in the client machine to
perform any action in deski
2.No connection with CMS
3.Can create reports from differenr sources like stored
procedure,excel,flat files etc other than universe.
4.report extension is .rpt
Web In telligence:
1.we can perform any action in webi using infoview, which
is web interface.
2.Connected with CMS. need to maintain the connection with
the CMS
3.can create reports only from universe
4.report extension is .webi

IN BO i have data source having the data like "abc" and after creating the Report on that datasource the data unmathed like "def".what will you do ? please anybody help me

How to create a tooltip in Webi? Is there a way to create Tooltips in Webi reports for non- hyperlinked columns? Users should be able to hover over a value in a column in the report and that should show a tooltip box with more detail regarding that column value. This is possible when you hyperlinked the column,Is it possible when you dn't have hyperlinking? Thanks in advance.
