A regular dimension contains descriptive and business key
information and organizes the information in a hierarchy,
from the highest level of granularity to the lowest. It
usually has multiple levels and each level requires a key
and a caption. If you do not have a single key for your
level, it is recommended that you create one in a
calculation. A measure dimension is a collection of facts.
You can create a measure dimension for one or more query
subjects that have a valid relationship between them.

Regular Dimensions
Regular dimensions represent descriptive data that provides
context for data modeled in measure dimensions. A regular
dimension is broken into groups of information called levels
which is organized into hierarchies. In turn, the various
levels can be. E.g. hierarchies of a product can be Prdt no,
Prdt name, Prdt line, Prdt description. Used in analysis
studio & in drill up & down methods.
Measure Dimensions
Measure dimensions represent the quantitative data described
by regular dimensions. Measure dimension is the object that
contains the fact data & Measure dimensions differ from fact
table because they do not include the foreign keys.

Hi, I have Cognos 7.0 Impromptu reports and these reports have been created with the Mainframe datasource. Now the business needs these reports should be upgraded but with Oracle datasource. So what's the idea, first we should migrate these reports into ReportNet? then in that case what we will do with the Impromptu Catalog?
