Answer / er. nitin sonkar
when a motor is connected in star the the line current is
equal to phase current but line voltage is equal to root 3
times the phase voltage.
and when motor is connected in delta line current is equal
to phase current divided by root 3 and line voltage is equal
to phase voltage

The different between star and delta connection is speed
and current.
in star connected motor current is less than delta
connected motor and speed also less star connected motor
than delta connected motor.

In case of delta have incoming of voltage is same like Vp = VL and incoming of current is different like Ip =IL /√3 in case of star have incoming of voltage is different like Vp =VL/√3 and incoming of current is same means Ip = IL .

In case star have same current ip = iL and voltage is different Vp = VL/√3 in case of delta it is work opposite of star .its incoming of current is different Ip = iL /√3 and voltage is same Vp = vL.

In delta connection the motor winding is connectoed in
delta by changing the strips or links provided with the
motor, similarly in star connection the motor winding is
connected in Star by changing the links provided with the
motor....

If breaker is undefined position, first step to do.
When we use air circuit breaker, it has O/L protection ,time delay SC protection, Instataneous SC protection & ground fault protection. They all have some setting range. But what is the suitable/allowable setting for the above protection which will be safe for the equipment? For example-O/L protection setting have a range of (0.4,0.45,0.5,0.55,0.6,0.65,0.7,0.8,0.9,1.0)xIn Time delay SC protection have a range of (1.25,1.5,2,3,4,6,8,10,12)xIn Time delay setting is 0.02,0.1,0.2,0.3,0.4 Instataneous setting is fixed to 20xIn Gound fault setting is given 100A,300A,600A,900A,1200A This setting are for 2500A ACB. So what will be the basic allowable setting for the above protection? is there any formulae to calculate this<
