what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / roshan

pf=1
cos fi=1
fi=0
no reactive power
actual power=real power

Is This Answer Correct ?    25 Yes 1 No

what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / jai prakash narain singh

WHEN POWER FACTOR IS UNITY,REAL POWER BECOMES EQUAL TO
APPARENT POWER,IT MEANS KW =KVA
IN THIS CASE REACTIVE POWER IS ZERO,SO NO USELESS
WATTAGE,SAY NO LOSSES.

Is This Answer Correct ?    10 Yes 1 No

what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / naresh

there will be no presence of reactive power ,as phase angle
is 90.reactive power losses can be ignored.

Is This Answer Correct ?    14 Yes 6 No

what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / deepak kapil

We know
Kw=kva x cos fi
When cos fi is 1
Kw=kva
active power=apprent power

Is This Answer Correct ?    6 Yes 1 No

what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / iamdon

If power factor became 1 then no reactive power is
required for load.

It means generating source would have to supply only real
power requirement of load.So less rated generator can be
used for feeding such load.

Also due to zero flow of reactive power,sending end voltage
is equal to receiving end(load)voltage.That is there will
no any voltage drop at the load end.

In such cases line loss is only due to real power
flow,which was otherwise(In case of non unity power factor)
due to flow of both real and reactive powers.Naturally
there will be reduced(non zero) line losses in case of
unity power factor.

what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / bhavik sabva

we know that

kw=kva * cos fi
but, if pover fector becomes unity then

fi becomes zero.
so kw=kva
it means that
in circuit there is no any loss of reactiv power.(kvar)
it becomes pureiy resistive circuit
and it is possible giving asupply of dc

what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / ravindra

pf =1 resistive . but for power delvring p=v1*v2sin(q)/x .x
inductance requir, .as pf from lagg to start leading by any
how or means voltage profile started impoving but the power
angle at unity pf becomes 45 to 75 but the permissible value
of q angle is 0 to 15 degree.so for the stability point of
view pf near about 1 but not exact 1 remain

Is This Answer Correct ?    1 Yes 0 No

what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / avinash gupta

As we know.....
pf is angle between voltage and current...so if its value is 1 means...active power= vicosfi..if cosfi=1
cosfi=cos0..then fi=o....active power=vi

reactive pwer=visinfi so reactive power=0..thier is no losss of absobtion of power in reactive mode..so its purely resistive circuit....

powe factor must be 1 for neglecting loss...we have to make pf as close as 1 by diffrent capicitor using method incresing xc...

what happened if power factor is "1"..

Answer / pavan msh

real power= reactive power
