WHY THE CUTOFF FREQUENCY IS OF 3 DB??
Answer / masud molla
actually the freq. corresponding to 3 db magnitude is considerd as bandwidth of signal. At this freq. the power of the signal is reduced to half of its max power or the attenuation caused by the system to the signal is such that the magnitude reduce to square root of half of the max magnitude of the signal. this is taken as standard refernce freq. beyond which the responce is not very important from the system analysis point of view.
