RMU -- ring main unit
this system is basically for distribution purpose
and in this the feeders are connected in a circuit which is
of ring type.
the main benefit is for future expansion extra feeders can
be added.
and the maintenance can be done easily without any
disturbance

RMU is a ring main unit which is used as a distribution
systems called ring main distributors where the
connectivity of grid is in the form of ring.

The use of RMU is to assure the alternative power supply in
case one of the feeder was lost. It is because in RMU
configuration there can be a choice of power supply either
from the counterclockwise or clockwise power supply with
respect to the load.
